Service before Sales
A personal philosophy developed over a business career spanning more than 30 years. A philosophy that acknowledges that your most important time is when you are on the show floor. Shows can be stressful. Away from the office, time deadlines, budgets to meet, all in what seems like barely controlled chaos. When, not if, Murphy points his finger at you…being able to reach out for an answer to a question, a solution to a problem on Monday or Sunday, in the early morning or late at night. This kind of service is difficult to put a price on, some say its priceless. Labor that is fully prepared with the drawings needed for the set and arrives with the tools needed for the job, and completes an inspection of the property at dismantle. Need that emergency replacement graphic or any of the myriad of things that always seem to pop up on the show floor? One phone call takes care of it. That is what service is about. Logistics: from transportation to transient storage
Creating component pick lists, pulling graphics, the management of inventory as it works it ways through your show schedule should be part of your providers service program. Transient storage in route to events to save shipping costs of going back and forth from a single storage facility. Tracking numbers for small shipments, and a driver’s name and cell number for the big ones.
When you cannot be there, or in the case of larger shows or problematic venues such as hotel events, live supervision of the set up thru show opening, and dismantle, and stand by on show days is available. On smaller shows, remote management of the set is most effective. Need staff shirts pressed, or a giveaway for a special drawing? Photocopies of lead sheets or pick up of a last minute FedEx? Your supervisor takes care of it all. Experience in working with all major North American venues provides a cost effective alternative to time away from your office.
